Psalms 45:1-9, 12, & 16-17 (Prophecy #
10)
045:001 My heart is inditing a good
matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is
the pen of a ready writer. 045:002 Thou art fairer than the children of men:
grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee forever. 045:003
Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.
045:004 And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and
righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things. 045:005
Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people
fall under thee. 045:006 Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever: the sceptre of
thy kingdom is a right sceptre. 045:007 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest
wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness
above thy fellows. 045:008 All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and
cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad. 045:009
Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand
the queen in gold of Ophir.
045:012 And the daughter of Tyre shall be
there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.
045:016 Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest
make princes in all the earth. 045:017 I will make thy name to be remembered in
all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee forever and ever.
There is a common consensus between Jewish and
Christians scholars that the prophecy described in the above verses of Psalms
is about the advent of a grand and mighty prophet. These Psalms mirror the king
David’s unconditional and extreme love for the promised “Shiloh.” a
mighty Prophet. David’s intense love for the mighty “Shiloh” is
resulting in a detailed description of the characteristics of that Prophet,
which are as follows:
Shiloh would be a supreme king (2) Unveiling and impartial
than children of men (3) Eloquent and soft-speaking (4) Blessed forever (5)
Most mighty (6) With a sword (7) Righteous and truthful with humility (8)
Majestic (9) His right hand would cause strong and mighty things (10) A master
archer (11) People will obey him (12) Owner of the everlasting throne (13)
Rightness of the sceptre of his kingdom (14) Lover of goodness and hater of
evil (15) His clothes with pleasant fragrance (16) Princess will become his
family (17) Recipient of gifts (18) His children will act as chieftains (19)
Generations will remember his name (20) Eternal glorification by mankind
Muslims do rightfully believes that actual
referent of this prophecy in Muhammad (SAW). Jews admit that no prophet had
come to Judah with all these characteristics since the days of King David.
Christians as usual claims that it is Jesus using their “snap judgment
that entire Old Testament is about Jesus. Nevertheless, Muslims’ claim is more
valid since the detailed description does not apply on Jesus by any means.
Following points will establish that this prophecy is about the advent of
Prophet Muhammad (SAW):
1. History is the testament that Muhammad’s kingship is more glaring that the sun, which has been, acknowledged by many Jewish and Christian scholars and historians. The God has bestowed religions, secular and theocratic and kingdoms of the worlds upon Muhammad (SAW). Like an emperor he issued Divine decrees and Muhammad (SAW) was not overcome and overpowered like Jesus by the Jews according to Christian belief and Bible. Unlike that the Prophet of Islaam defeated and drove out the Jews from their strongholds.
Muhammad (SAW) was truly a king of kings in his acts and deeds. He was the king of the world and religion. He was and still is and will remain the best of the creations and above all prophets.

And (remember) when Allâh took the Covenant
of the Prophets, saying: "Take whatever I gave you from the Book and Hikmah (understanding of the Laws of Allâh), and afterwards
there will come to you a Messenger (Muhammad صلى
الله عليه وسلم) confirming what is with you; you must,
then, believe in him and help him." Allâh said: "Do you agree (to it)
and will you take up My Covenant (which I conclude with you)?" They said:
"We agree." He said: "Then bear witness; and I am with you among
the witnesses (for this)." (Glorious Qur’aan 3:81)
Since
Adam (AS) no prophet received a Book like Glorious Qur’aan which is a marvelous
Scripture, neither any prophet received a complete and perfect Laws like
Qur’aan with its guiding towards betterment and salvation of people with peace
in this world. The Law of Muhammad (SAW) is perfect for political, social,
cultural and civic lives of mankind. While each prophet was sent to his people
including Jesus to children of Israel, but contrary of all prophets Muhammad
(SAW) was sent to all the mankind and Jinns. Following are few quotes from
those who reverted to Islaam out of countless:
“Islam has forged in one relation of
brotherhood all the people taken out from the boundaries of culture, color and
region. So far as marriage and marital life is concerned, they have very deep
roots in Islam, and social and biological realties have set the seal of truth
upon them. In comparison to the superficial and so-called monogamy of the West,
family principles, traditions and regulations of Islam are more
practicable." -Ismail Wieslaw Jazierski, Poland
“My study is vast, but the impression produced
by the style of expression of the Holy Qur’an has no parallel and can’t be described
in words. I thought as if Allah, the Almighty, was Himself addressing me with
all His Blessings and Benedictions, and the Qur’an was going to be revealed on
me. I felt pity at the Muslims treating Qur’an as they do. They go on reading
this Book of Allah like novels. They neither ponder over its meaning nor stop
at any point to understand its glory." -Dr. Ataullah Budgan, Poland
“I was startled to know that a sense of praise
emerged from my sub-conscious for those who were still firm in following their
religion. This feeling created in me a soft corner for Islam and a desire arose
for knowing about that religion.” -Dr. Ta’lim Ali, formerly Thomas Irving,
Canada
“The Holy Qur’an which was revealed nearly
fourteen hundred years ago contains even such ayahs which have been discovered
with respect to its scientific value much later through scientific research.
And this discovery was sufficient for me to believe that the second part of the
Kalimah is also believable.” -Ali Sulaiman Banoist, France
“I have become a Muslim by force of my study
and I have a great regard for it. The Muslims have got Islam as a legacy; hence
they fail to recognize its value. In fact, during all the troubles and problems
I faced in my life, Islam proved the only cradle of peace and comfort. Whatever
thanks I pay to Allah, The Almighty and Exalted, is much less in comparison to
what I have got by way of this Blessing.” -Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall,
England
"I have become very happy after getting
such a true and universal religion as Islam. My heart is full of real
happiness, and it is my heart-felt yearning to convey to each and every person
I come across the lofty manners, character and teachings of the Messenger of
Allah." -Rajkumari Javed Banu Begam, India
"I pay countless thanks to Allah that He
saved me from sinking deep into the darkness of race and color. I pray that
Allah, the Almighty, confer upon me the will to spread Islam and I keep-calling
mankind to the straight path. In fact, each citizen of America needs to be shown
the true face of Islam, because till now the true face of Islam has not been
shown to the West." -Sulaiman Shahid Mufassir, America
"Muhammad (S) was the final Messenger. His
deeds are matchless, but, however, these can't be taken as metaphysical. These
have come to the fore with the flow of history and reason testifies." -Dr.
Umar Rolf Baron Van Ehrenfeis, Austria
"The spirit behind true Faith in Islam is
the attainment of the Pleasure of Allah and His unconditional obedience. It is
the "cornerstone" of prayer. This religion teaches universal
brotherhood, equality, harmony, large-heartedness and humility. It lays stress
on purity of heart and cleanliness of action, tongue and body. If a man wants
to get himself identified with the way of life, which is most lofty in regard
to action and morality, it is Islam and Islam alone." -Muhammad
Alexander Russel Webb, formerly Alexander Russel Webb, America.
"All the comforts, glitters and luxuries are
nothing in comparison to the blessings of Islam, the religion of Allah. This
alone contains real spiritual happiness, blessings of the world and salvation
in the Hereafter." -Fatima Hereen, Germany
"While the evils of atheism and
materialism, supported by all the forces of modern technology, are working day
and night to destroy us - spiritually, culturally and politically - rather than
hold fast to faith in Allah, unite and combat our real enemies, we foolishly
choose to trade the path of an alien civilization, hoping thereby in vain to
attain social prestige and the comforts and pleasures of this transitory world
in utter forgetfulness of the eternal Life Hereafter and thus totally neglect
our duties as Muslims to Allah and our fellow-beings. This is not the way to
"progress" but can only result in our failure, degeneration and doom,
both individually and collectively!" -Maryam Jameelah, formerly
Margaret Marcus
"Before America allows herself to be
destroyed by the "cancer of racism" she should become better
acquainted with the religious philosophy of Islam, a religion that has already
molded people of all colors into one vast family, a nation of brotherhood of
Islam that leaps over all "obstacle" and stretches itself into almost
all the Eastern countries of this Earth." -Malik Al-Shabazz, formerly
Malcolm X
“The Europeans had left no stone unturned in
distorting the facts and disfiguring Islam. They have painted Islam as the
religion of the brutes and savages having no sense of wisdom, sagacity, virtue
and righteousness. Now I was firm and confident that Islamic teachings are
flawless and free of all contradictions, defects, drawbacks, and shortcomings.
My studies, observations and discussions have led me to believe that Islam is
free from the weaknesses of other religions and the defects which we see in the
Muslims are not the defects of Islam.” –Muhammad Asad, formerly Leopold
Wais, Poland.
“When I recollect my past days, I become
restless and shed tears of repentance when I am alone. I have no words to thank
Allah, the Exalted who pulled me out of this marsh. Before this I was moving
with the banner of Satan in my hands. Had I been dead in that state how could I
face Allah the Almighty?” -Yusuf Islam formerly Cat Stevens, England
“Islam is the standard-bearer of a respectable
and balanced life. It neither considers man helpless nor gives all out freedom
and license to him. It attaches fundamental importance to the qualities of
efforts and struggle, caution, reason and understanding. In other words, it
believes in establishing such a society which is based on peace, justice and
fair-play and putting them into practice with intelligence and reasoning.” -Sir
Abdullah Archibald Hamilton formerly Sir Charles Hamilton, England.
“After embracing Islam I felt that something
tremendously magnificent had entered in my very existence. I have no words to
express my joys and sense of satisfaction. One has many difficulties to face in
America with a series of crimes and counter-crimes. But after embracing Islam,
I started wearing veil and escaped such troubles. I came under the shadow of
peace and safety. I also felt that people in general would hold me in high
esteem due to my observing purdah. None would tease me anywhere either
on the road or in the bus, etc.” -Laila Lessalut Watman, America
By Non-Muslim Scholars
"Islam has still the power to reconcile
apparently irreconcilable elements of race and tradition. If ever the
opposition of the great societies of East and West is to be replaced by
co-operation, the mediation of Islam is an indispensable condition. In its
hands lies very largely the solution of the problem with which Europe is faced
in its relation with the East. If they unite, the hope of a peaceful issue is
immeasurably enhanced. But if Europe, by rejecting the co-operation of Islam,
throws into the arms of its rivals, the issue can only be disastrous for
both." -H.A.R. Gibb, from Whither Islam
"Part of the Western problem is that for
centuries Muhammad has been seen as the antithesis of the religious spirit an
as the enemy of decent civilization. Instead, perhaps, we should try to see him
as a man of the spirit, who managed to bring peace and civilization to his
people." -Karen Armstrong, from Muhammad, A Biography of the
Prophet
"I have studied Muhammad - the wonderful
man - and in my opinion far from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the
Savior of Humanity. I believe that if a man like him were to assume the
dictatorship of the modern world, he would succeed in solving its problems in a
way that would bring it much needed peace and happiness: I have prophesied
about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the Europe of
tomorrow as it is beginning to be accepted to the Europe of today." -George
Bernard Shaw, from The Genuine Islam
James Michener in ‘Islam: The Misunderstood
Religion,’ Reader’s Digest, May 1955, pp. 68-70.
"No other religion in history spread so
rapidly as Islam. The West has widely believed that this surge of religion was
made possible by the sword. But no modern scholar accepts this idea, and the
Qur’an is explicit in the support of the freedom of conscience."
"Muhammad, the inspired man who founded
Islam, was born about A.D. 570 into an Arabian tribe that worshiped idols.
Orphaned at birth, he was always particularly solicitous of the poor and needy,
the widow and the orphan, the slave and the downtrodden. At twenty he was
already a successful businessman, and soon became director of camel caravans
for a wealthy widow. When he reached twenty-five his employer recognizing his
merit, proposed marriage. Even though she was fifteen years older, he married
her and as long as she lived remained a devoted husband."
“Like almost every major prophet before him,
Muhammad fought shy of serving as the transmitter of God’s word sensing his own
inadequacy. But the Angel commanded ‘Read’. So far as we know, Muhammad was
unable to read or write, but he began to dictate those inspired words which
would soon revolutionize a large segment of the earth: "There is one
God"."
“In all things Muhammad was profoundly
practical. When his beloved son Ibrahim died, an eclipse occurred and rumors of
God 's personal condolence quickly arose. Whereupon Muhammad is said to have
announced, ‘an eclipse is a phenomenon of nature. It is foolish to attribute
such things to the death or birth of a human being'."
“At Muhammad's own death an attempt was made to
deify him, but the man who was to become his administrative successor killed
the hysteria with one of the noblest speeches in religious history: ‘If there
are any among you who worshiped Muhammad, he is dead. But if it is God you
Worshiped, He lives for ever'.”
Lawrence E. Browne in ‘The Prospects of
Islam,’ 1944
Incidentally these well-established facts
dispose of the idea so widely fostered in Christian writings that the Muslims,
wherever they went, forced people to accept Islam at the point of the sword.
K. S. Ramakrishna Rao in 'Mohammed: The
Prophet of Islam,' 1989
My problem to write this monograph is easier,
because we are not generally fed now on that (distorted) kind of history and
much time need not be spent on pointing out our misrepresentations of Islam.
The theory of Islam and sword, for instance, is not heard now in any quarter
worth the name. The principle of Islam that “there is no compulsion in
religion” is well known.
Jules Masserman in 'Who Were Histories Great
Leaders?' in TIME Magazine, July 15, 1974
Perhaps the greatest leader of all times was
Mohammad, who combined all the three functions. To a lesser degree Moses did
the same.
Mohammad's career is a wonderful instance of
the force and life that resides in him who possesses an intense faith in God
and in the unseen world. He will always be regarded as one of those who have
had that influence over the faith, morals and whole earthly life of their
fellow men, which none but a really great man ever did, or can exercise; and
whose efforts to propagate a great verity will prosper.
W. Montgomery Watt in 'Muhammad at Mecca,'
Oxford, 1953.
His readiness to undergo persecution for his
beliefs, the high moral character of the men who believed in him and looked up
to him as a leader, and the greatness of his ultimate achievement - all argue
his fundamental integrity. To suppose Muhammad an impostor raises more problems
that it solves. Moreover, none of the great figures of history is so poorly
appreciated in the West as Muhammad.... Thus, not merely must we credit
Muhammad with essential honesty and integrity of purpose, if we are to
understand him at all; if we are to correct the errors we have inherited from
the past, we must not forget the conclusive proof is a much stricter
requirement than a show of plausibility, and in a matter such as this only to
be attained with difficulty.
D. G. Hogarth in 'Arabia'
Serious or trivial, his daily behavior has
instituted a canon which millions observe this day with conscious memory. No
one regarded by any section of the human race as Perfect Man has ever been
imitated so minutely. The conduct of the founder of Christianity has not
governed the ordinary life of his followers. Moreover, no founder of a religion
has left on so solitary an eminence as the Muslim apostle.
Dr. William Draper in 'History of
Intellectual Development of Europe'
Four years after the death of Justinian, A.D.
569, was born in Mecca, in Arabia, the man who, of all men, has exercised the
greatest influence upon the human race... To be the religious head of many
empires, to guide the daily life of one-third of the human race, may perhaps
justify the title of a Messenger of God.
J.W.H. Stab in 'Islam and its Founder'
Judged by the smallness of the means at his
disposal, and the extent and permanence of the work that he accomplished, his
name in world's history shines with a more specious luster than that of the
Prophet of Makkah. To the impulse, which
he gave, numberless dynasties have owed their existence, fair cities and
stately palaces and temples have arisen, and wide provinces became obedient to
the Faith. And beyond all this, his words have governed the belief of
generations, been accepted as their rule of life, and their certain guide to
the world to come. At a thousand shrines the voices of the faithful invoke
blessings on him, whom they esteem the very Prophet of God, the seal of the
Apostles.... Judged by the standards to human renown, the glory of what
mortal can compare with his?
Washington Irving in 'Life of Muhammad,' New
York, 1920.
His military triumphs awakened neither pride
nor vainglory, as they would have done had they been affected by selfish
purposes. In the time of his greatest power he maintained the same simplicity
of manner and appearance as in the days of his adversity. So far from affecting
regal state, he was displeased if, on entering a room, any unusual testimonial
of respect was shown to him.
Arthur Glyn Leonard in 'Islam, Her Moral and
Spiritual Values'
It was the genius of Muhammad, the spirit that
he breathed into the Arabs through the soul of Islam that exalted them. That
raised them out of the lethargy and low level of tribal stagnation up to the
high watermark of national unity and empire. It was in the sublimity of
Muhammad's deism, the simplicity, the sobriety and purity it inculcated the
fidelity of its founder to his own tenets, that acted on their moral and
intellectual fiber with all the magnetism of true inspiration.
Charles Stuart Mills in 'History of
Mohammadanism'
Deeply read in the volume of nature, though
extremely ignorant of letters, his mind could expand into controversy with the wisest
of his enemies or contract itself to the apprehension of meanest of his
disciples. His simple eloquence was rendered impressive by a manner of mixed
dignity and elegance, by the expression of a countenance where the awfulness of
his majesty was so well tempered by an amiable sweetness, that it exerted
emotions of veneration and love. He was gifted with that authoritative air or
genius which alike influences the learned and commands the illiterate.
Philip K. Hitti in 'History of the Arabs'
Within a brief span of mortal life, Muhammad
called forth of unpromising material, a nation, never welded before; in a
country that was hitherto but a geographical expression he established a
religion which in vast areas suppressed Christianity and Judaism, and laid the
basis of an empire that was soon to embrace within its far flung boundaries the
fairest provinces the then civilized world.
Stanley Lane-Poole in 'Studies in a Mosque'
He was one of those happy few who have attained
the supreme joy of making one great truth their very life spring. He was the
messenger of One God, and never to his life's end did he forget who he was or
the message, which was the marrow of his being. He brought his tidings to his
people with a grand dignity sprung from the consciousness of his high office,
together with a most sweet humility.
Washington Irving 'Mahomet and His
Successors'
He was sober and abstemious in his diet and a
rigorous observer of fasts. He indulged in no magnificence of apparel, the ostentation
of a petty mind; neither was his simplicity in dress affected but a result of
real disregard for distinction from so trivial a source.
In his private dealings he was just. He treated
friends and strangers, the rich and poor, the powerful and weak, with equity,
and was beloved by the common people for the affability with which he received
them, and listened to their complaints.
His military
triumphs awakened neither pride nor vainglory, as they would have done had they
been affected for selfish purposes. In the time of his greatest power he
maintained the same simplicity of manners and appearance as in the days of his
adversity. So far from affecting a regal state, he was displeased if, on
entering a room, any unusual testimonials of respect were shown to him. If he
aimed at a universal dominion, it was the dominion of faith; as to the temporal
rule, which grew up in his hands, as he used it without ostentation, so he took
no step to perpetuate it in his family.
Thomas Carlyle in 'Heroes and Hero Worship
and the Heroic in History,' 1840
"The lies (Western slander) which
well-meaning zeal has heaped round this man (Muhammad) are disgraceful to
ourselves only."
"A silent great soul, one of that who
cannot but be earnest. He was to kindle the world, the world’s Maker had
ordered so."
A. S. Tritton in 'Islam,' 1951
The picture of the Muslim soldier advancing
with a sword in one hand and the Qur'an in the other is quite false.
De Lacy O'Leary in 'Islam at the
Crossroads,' London, 1923.
History makes it clear, however, that the
legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the
point of sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd
myths that historians have ever repeated.
Gibbon in 'The Decline and Fall of the Roman
Empire' 1823
The good sense of Muhammad despised the pomp of
royalty. The Apostle of God submitted to the menial offices of the family; he
kindled the fire; swept the floor; milked the ewes; and mended with his own
hands his shoes and garments. Disdaining the penance and merit of a hermit, he
observed without effort of vanity the abstemious diet of an Arab.
Edward Gibbon and Simon Oakley in ‘History
of the Saracen Empire,’ London, 1870
"The greatest success of Mohammad’s life
was affected by sheer moral force."
“It is not the propagation but the permanency
of his religion that deserves our wonder, the same pure and perfect impression
which he engraved at Mecca and Medina is preserved after the revolutions of
twelve centuries by the Indian, the African and the Turkish proselytes of the
Koran.... The Mahometans have uniformly withstood the temptation of reducing
the object of their faith and devotion to a level with the senses and
imagination of man. ‘I believe in One God and Mahomet the Apostle of God’ is
the simple and invariable profession of Islam. The intellectual image of the
Deity has never been degraded by any visible idol; the honors of the prophet
have never transgressed the measure of human virtue, and his living precepts
have restrained the gratitude of his disciples within the bounds of reason and
religion.”
Lane-Poole in 'Speeches and Table Talk of
the Prophet Muhammad'
He was the most faithful protector of those he
protected, the sweetest and most agreeable in conversation. Those who saw him
were suddenly filled with reverence; those who came near him loved him; they
who described him would say, "I have never seen his like either before or
after." He was of great taciturnity, but when he spoke it was with
emphasis and deliberation, and no one could forget what he said...
Annie Besant in 'The Life and Teachings of
Mohammad,' Madras, 1932.
It is impossible for anyone who studies the
life and character of the great Prophet of Arabia, who knew how he taught and
how he lived, to feel anything but reverence for that mighty Prophet, one of
the great messengers of the Supreme. And although in what I put to you I shall
say many things, which may be familiar to many, yet I myself feel, whenever I
reread them, a new way of admiration, a new sense of reverence for that mighty
Arabian teacher.
W.C. Taylor in 'The History of Mohammadanism
and its Sects'
So great was his liberality to the poor that he
often left his household unprovided, nor did he content himself with relieving
their wants, he entered into conversation with them, and expressed a warm
sympathy for their sufferings. He was a firm friend and a faithful ally.
Reverend Bosworth Smith in 'Muhammad and
Muhammadanism,' London, 1874.
"Head of the State as well as the Church,
he was Caesar and Pope in one; but he was Pope without the Pope's pretensions,
and Caesar without the legions of Caesar, without a standing army, without a
bodyguard, without a police force, without a fixed revenue. If ever a man ruled by a right divine, it was Muhammad, for
he had all the powers without their supports. He cared not for the dressings of
power. The simplicity of his private life was in keeping with his public
life."
"In Mohammadanism every thing is different
here. Instead of the shadowy and the mysterious, we have history.... We know of
the external history of Muhammad.... while for his internal history after his
mission had been proclaimed, we have a book absolutely unique in its origin, in
its preservation.... on the Substantial authority of which no one has ever been
able to cast a serious doubt."
Edward Montet, 'La Propagande Chretienne et ses Adversaries Musulmans,'
Paris 1890. (Also in T.W. Arnold in 'The
Preaching of Islam,' London 1913.)
"Islam is a religion that is essentially
rationalistic in the widest sense of this term considered etymologically and
historically.... the teachings of the Prophet, the Qur'an has invariably kept
its place as the fundamental starting point, and the dogma of unity of God has
always been proclaimed therein with a grandeur a majesty, an invariable purity
and with a note of sure conviction, which it is hard to find surpassed outside
the pale of Islam.... A creed so precise, so stripped of all theological
complexities and consequently so accessible to the ordinary understanding might
be expected to possess and does indeed possess a marvelous power of winning its
way into the consciences of men."
Dr. Gustav Weil in 'History of the Islamic
Peoples'
Muhammad was a shining example to his people.
His character was pure and stainless. His house, his dress, his food - they
were characterized by a rare simplicity. So unpretentious was he that he would
receive from his companions no special mark of reverence, nor would he accept
any service from his slave, which he could do for himself. He was accessible to
all and at all times. He visited the sick and was full of sympathy for all.
Unlimited was his benevolence and generosity as also was his anxious care for
the welfare of the community.
Alphonse de LaMartaine in 'Historie de la Turquie,' Paris, 1854.
"Never has a man set for himself,
voluntarily or involuntarily, a more sublime aim, since this aim was
superhuman; to subvert superstitions which had been imposed between man and his
Creator, to render God unto man and man unto God; to restore the rational
and sacred idea of divinity amidst the chaos of the material and disfigured
gods of idolatry, then existing. Never has a man undertaken a work so far
beyond human power with so feeble means, for he (Muhammad) had in the
conception as well as in the execution of such a great design, no other
instrument than himself and no other aid except a handful of men living in a
corner of the desert. Finally, never has a man accomplished such a huge and
lasting revolution in the world, because in less than two centuries after its
appearance, Islam, in faith and in arms, reigned over the whole of Arabia, and
conquered, in God's name, Persia Khorasan, Transoxania, Western India, Syria,
Egypt, Abyssinia, all the known continent of Northern Africa, numerous islands
of the Mediterranean Sea, Spain, and part of Gaul.
"If greatness of purpose, smallness of
means, and astonishing results are the three criteria of a human genius, who
could dare compare any great man in history with Muhammad? The most famous men created arms, laws, and empires only.
They founded, if anything at all, no more than material powers which often
crumbled away before their eyes. This man moved not only armies, legislations,
empires, peoples, dynasties, but millions of men in one-third of the then
inhabited world; and more than that, he moved the altars, the gods, the
religions, the ideas, the beliefs and the souls.
"On the basis of a Book, every letter
which has become law, he created a spiritual nationality which blend together
peoples of every tongue and race. He has left the indelible characteristic of
this Muslim nationality the hatred of false gods and the passion for the One
and Immaterial God. This avenging patriotism against the profanation of Heaven
formed the virtue of the followers of Muhammad; the conquest of one-third the
earth to the dogma was his miracle; or rather it was not the miracle of man but
that of reason.
"The idea of the unity of God, proclaimed amidst the exhaustion of the fabulous theogonies,
was in itself such a miracle that upon it's utterance from his lips it
destroyed all the ancient temples of idols and set on fire one-third of the
world. His life, his meditations, his heroic revelings against the
superstitions of his country, and his boldness in defying the furies of
idolatry, his firmness in enduring them for fifteen years in Mecca, his
acceptance of the role of public scorn and almost of being a victim of his
fellow countrymen: all these and finally, his flight his incessant preaching,
his wars against odds, his faith in his success and his superhuman security in
misfortune, his forbearance in victory, his ambition, which was entirely
devoted to one idea and in no manner striving for an empire; his endless
prayers, his mystic conversations with God, his death and his triumph after
death; all these attest not to an imposture but to a firm conviction which gave
him the power to restore a dogma. This dogma was twofold the unity of God and
the immateriality of God: the former telling what God is, the latter telling
what God is not; the one overthrowing false gods with the sword, the other
starting an idea with words.
"Philosopher, Orator, Apostle,
Legislator, Conqueror of Ideas, Restorer of Rational beliefs.... The founder of
twenty terrestrial empires and of one spiritual empire that is Muhammad. As
regards all standards by which human greatness may be measured, we may well
ask, is there any man greater than he?"
Mahatma Gandhi, statement published in
'Young India,'1924.
I wanted to know the best of the life of one
who holds today an undisputed sway over the hearts of millions of mankind.... I
became more than ever convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for
Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the
utter self-effacement of the Prophet the scrupulous regard for pledges, his
intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his
fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission. These and not
the sword carried everything before them and surmounted every obstacle. When I
closed the second volume (of the Prophet's biography), I was sorry there was
not more for me to read of that great life.
Sir George Bernard Shaw in 'The Genuine
Islam,' Vol. 1, No. 8, 1936.
"If any religion had the chance of
ruling over England, nay Europe within the next hundred years, it could be
Islam."
“I have always held the religion of Muhammad in
high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion,
which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase
of existence, which can make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him -
the wonderful man and in my opinion for from being an anti-Christ, he must be
called the Savior of Humanity."
"I believe that if a man like him were to
assume the dictatorship of the modern world he would succeed in solving its
problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness: I
have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the
Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today.”
Michael Hart in 'The 100, A Ranking of the
Most Influential Persons In History,' New York, 1978.
My choice of Muhammad to lead the list of the
world’s most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be
questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely
successful on both the secular and religious level. ...It is probable that the
relative influence of Muhammad on Islam has been larger than the combined
influence of Jesus Christ and St. Paul on Christianity. ...It is this
unparalleled combination of secular and religious influence which I feel
entitles Muhammad to be considered the most influential single figure in human
history.
Islaam alone combines all
superior qualities of a religion that Muhammad (SAW) brought from the God,
Muhammad (SAW) is the prophet who message cause other religions to fade away
because of the spiritual supremacy and suzerainty of Muhammad’s message.
Muhammad (SAW) was a very
handsome and comely prophet. It is quoted from Abu Hurairah (RA) that he hadn’t
seen anyone more handsome than the Messenger of Allaah. It seems that sun
revolves around his face, and his smile makes his radiant teeth cast a glow on
the wall. It is further quoted by the Mother of Believers, Aiysha Siddiqaa (RA)
that the women of Egypt cut their finger when they saw the Joseph (Yusuf). They
would have lacerated their hearts had they seen Muhammad (SAW). The regal gait
and handsome charm of Muhammad (SAW) added more Majesty that made his
personality more commanding and pleasing. Muhammad’s manners of engaging
address with an eloquent expression are well-admitted facts by his friends and
foes equally. Muhammad’s pure words and
fragrant sayings are superbly supported with authority and have been preserved
even to this day through which one can learn his eloquence and refinement of
thoughts.
It is reported that once “Rukana”
the mightiest of the Arab wrestler met Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the desert and
challenged by saying “If you defeat me, I will accept you as the true prophet.”
Muhammad (SAW) defeated him, then “Rukana” asked for a second and
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) defeated him again. Rukana was astonished on his defeat
not once but twice and looked at the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), who said: “ You
are wondering on this defeat? If you
follow my message I can show you things greater than this.” Rukana asked:
“Is there still something stranger than this?” The Prophet summoned a tree it
came to them and when told to go back, the tree went back to its place. There
is no doubt that Muhammad (SAW) was the mightiest of the mighty.
The verse 17 of this prophecy
says that He is eternally blessed (“I will make thy name remembered in all
generation: Therefore, shall the people praise thee forever and ever.” Billions of Muslims since the advent of
Islaam honor and praise his name 24/7/365 (in their five daily prayers, day and
night) in every corner of this world:
إِنَّ اللَّهَ
وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ
يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى
النَّبِيِّ يَا
أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ
آمَنُوا صَلُّوا
عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا
تَسْلِيمًا
Allâh
sends His Salât (Graces, Honours, Blessings, Mercy) on
the Prophet (Muhammad صلى الله
عليه وسلم), and also His angels (ask Allâh to bless and forgive him). O
you who believe! Send your Salât {1} on (ask Allâh to
bless) him (Muhammad صلى الله
عليه وسلم), and (you should) greet (salute) him with the Islâmic way of
greeting (salutation i.e. As-Salâmu ‘Alaikum).
{1} (V.33: 56). Narrated ‘Abdur-Rahmân bin Abî Laila: Ka‘b
bin ‘Ujrah met me and said, ‘Shall I not give you a present I got from the
Prophet صلى الله
عليه وسلم?" ‘Abdur-Rahmân said, "Yes, give it to me." I
said, "We asked Allâh’s Messenger صلى
الله عليه وسلمsaying,
‘O Allâh’s Messenger! How should one (ask Allâh to) send As-Salât upon you and the Ahl-al-Bait أهل
البيت
(the members of the family of the prophet صلى
الله عليه وسلم, for Allah has taught us how to greet
you?’ He said, ‘Say Allahumma
Salli ‘alâ Muhammadin Wa‘âlâ âli Muhammadin, Kamâ Sal-laita ‘alâ Ibrâhîma wa
‘ala âlei Ibrahîma, Innaka Hamidun Majeed. Allahumma bârik ‘alâ Muhammadin wa
‘alâ âli Muhammadin Kamâ bârakta ‘alâ Ibrâhîma wa ‘alâ âli Ibrâhîm, Innaka
Hamidun Majid.’ (O Allâh! Send
Your Salât
(Graces,
Honours and Mercy) on Muhammad and on the family or the followers of Muhammad,
as You sent Your Salât (Graces Honour and Mercy) on Ibrâhîm and
on the family or the followers of Ibrâhîm, for You are the Most Praise-Worthy,
the Most Glorious. O Allâh! Send Your Blessings on Muhammad and on the family
or the followers of Muhammad as You sent your Blessings on Ibrâhîm and on the
family or the followers of Ibrâhîm, for You are the Most Praise-Worthy, the
Most Glorious.’ " ( Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.4, Hadîth No.589).
Muhammad (SAW) was a
leader, a worrier, and a man of filed that Jesus not, who according to Christians
and their gospels had no strength to save himself from the hands of Jews.
Glorious Qur’aan testifies for Muhammad’s
righteous and truthfulness, as we read in Surah 9:33; Surah 37:37; and Surah
39:33
هُوَ الَّذِي
أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ
بِالْهُدَى وَدِينِ
الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ
عَلَى الدِّينِ
كُلِّهِ وَلَوْ
كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ
It is He Who has sent His
Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله
عليه وسلم) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islâm), to make it
superior over all religions even though the Mushrikűn (polytheists,
pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) hate (it).
(Glorious Qur’aan 9:33)
Nay! he (Muhammad صلى الله عليه
وسلم)
has come with the truth (i.e. Allâh’s religion - Islâmic Monotheism and this
Qur’ân) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allâh’s religion
- Islâmic Monotheism).
(Glorious Qur’aan
37:37)
وَالَّذِي
جَاءَ بِالصِّدْقِ
وَصَدَّقَ بِهِ
أُولَئِكَ هُمُ
الْمُتَّقُونَ
And
he (Muhammad صلى الله
عليه وسلم) who has brought the truth (this Qur’ân and Islâmic Monotheism)
and (those who) believed therein (i.e. the true believers of Islâmic
Monotheism), those are Al-Muttaqűn (the pious - See
V.2: 2).
(Glorious Qur’aan 39:33)
Nadhar Bin-al-Harith, once addressed the Quraish and said: “When Muhammad (SAW) was a youth among you, he was called the most liked, most truthful and the most trustworthy. And when his hair did grow gray and he brought you the religion Islaam you call him a wizard. BY God he is not a wizard” When the Byzantinian Heraclius asked Abu Sufyan: “If your people ever accused the Prophet of lying? Abu Sufyan replied” “We have never found untruthfulness in him.”
Muhammad’s
(SAW) magnanimity is well documented and well known, which is matchless in the
line of Prophets and will always remain this way.
Like
the usage of “fiery law” which means in Judaic nomenclature “the God
given law” (Sharia of Moses) which he received on the Mount Sinai though
the sign of fire and heard the God. Therefore association of word “fire” with
heavenly law is termed as fiery law. In the same fashion this prophecy has
coined the words “The terrible things” that his right hand wrought;
is referring to the miracle of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) when he made moon split
in two, and blinding his enemies by casting the duct in the battles of Badr
and Hunein.
Do
they then await (anything) other than the Hour that it should come upon them
suddenly? But some of its portents (indications and signs) have already come;
and when it (actually) is on them, how can they benefit then by their reminder?
{1}
{1} (V.47: 18) See the
footnote of (V.6: 158).
The Hour has drawn near, and the
moon has been cleft asunder (the people of Makkah requested Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه
وسلم
to show them a miracle, so he showed them the splitting of the moon). {1}
{1}
(V.54: 1) Narrated Anas رضي الله
عنه: The
people of Makkah asked the Prophet صلى
الله عليه وسلم to show them a sign (miracle). So he
showed them (the miracle) of the cleaving of the moon. (Sahih Al-Bukhari , Vol.6, Hadîth No.390).
Ishmaelites passion of Archery is well
documented including in the Old Testament we read in “Genesis 021:020 And
God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an
archer.” The tradition of Muhammad
(SAW) exhorts Muslims (Ishmaelites) to learn the Archery. It is reported that
Prophet Muhammad has said “The one who after learning archery, gives it up is
not of us.” Another is as follows:
Exhortation to archery (i.e. arrow
throwing) and the saying of Allah (the Exalted and Almighty)
78-CHAPTER: Exhortation to archery
(i.e. arrow throwing) and the saying of Allah (the Exalted and Almighty)
[2899] Salama bin Al-Akwa; (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: «The Prophet (the blessing and peace of Allah be upon him) passed by some people of the tribe of Bani Aslam who were practicing archery. The Prophet said: «O Bani Isma'il! Practice archery as your father Isma'il was a great archer. Keep on throwing arrows and I am with Bani so-and-so». So one of the parties ceased throwing. Allah's Apostle said: «Why do not you throw?» They replied: «How should we throw while you are with them (i.e. on their side)»? On that the he said: «Throw, and I am with all of you».
The
proof of the fulfillment of “whereby the people fall under thee”
according to this prophecy means people became his (Muhammad) disciples and
staunch followers. Contrary to that according to Christians and their gospels
when Jews arrested Jesus (PBUH) all his disciples fled leaving no one behind
with him, and Judas according to Christian belief as mentioned in gospels
betrayed his master (Jesus) selling him out for thirty “bobs” and got his
alleged god arrested. On the other hand when we compare the followers of Moses
(PBUH) asked the Israelites to get ready for a holy war, they (Jews) simply
refused and said: “ So go thou and thy
Lord and fight! We will sit here (see Glorious Qur’aan 5:24). IN contrast to
Moses and Jesus (PBUT) the fidelity and valor of the Companions of Prophet
Muhammad (SAW) is known world over. These Companions made such sacrifices
physically and financially for their Prophet Muhammad (SAW) that the like of it
is not found among any of the former Prophet and nation. The immediate
successors of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the rightly guided Caliphs in a very
short time made Islaam an Empire of Faith in the world.
The Law
of Muhammad (SAW) will abide everlastingly as the Glorious Qur’aan the final
Divine revelation Muhammad (SAW) brought has Divine guarantee against any
adulteration and corruption till the Day of Judgment. That is not to be found
in any previous scripture whereas the Glorious Qur’aan stands as pristine and
pure as it was over fourteen centuries ago.
إِنَّا
نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا
الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا
لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ
Verily, We, it is We Who have
sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur’ân) and surely, We
will guard it (from corruption) {1} . (Glorious Qur’aan
15:9)
{1} (V.15: 9) This Verse is a challenge to mankind and
everyone is obliged to believe in the miracles of this Qur’ân. It is a clear
fact that more than 1400 years have elapsed and not a single word of this
Qur’ân has been changed, although the disbelievers tried their utmost to change
it in every way, but they failed miserably in their efforts. As it is mentioned
in this holy Verse: “We will guard it.” By Allâh! He has guarded it. On the
contrary, all the other holy Books (the Taurât (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel).)
have been corrupted in the form of additions or subtractions or alterations in
the original text.
And recite
what has been revealed to you (O Muhammad صلى
الله عليه وسلم) of the Book (the Qur’ân) of your Lord
(i.e. recite it, understand and follow its teachings and act on its orders and
preach it to men). None can change His Words, and none will you find as a
refuge other than Him. (Glorious Qur’aan 18:27)
Never
did We send a Messenger or a Prophet before you but when he did recite the
revelation or narrated or spoke, Shaitân (Satan) threw
(some falsehood) in it. But Allâh abolishes that which Shaitân
(Satan) throws in. Then Allâh establishes His Revelations. And Allâh is
All-Knower, All-Wise: (Glorious Qur’aan 22:52)
Then it is for Us (Allâh) to make it clear (to you).
(Glorious Qur’aan 75:19)
(Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfűz (The
Preserved Tablet)!
(Glorious Qur’aan 85:22)
(12)The
Glorious Qur’aan testifies to the greatest championship of Muhammad (SAW) for
Truth and his enmity for Evil in following verses:
O
Prophet (Muhammad صلى الله
عليه وسلم)! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and
be harsh against them, their abode is Hell, - and worst indeed is that
destination. (Glorious Qur’aan 9:73)
لَقَدْ
جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ
مِنْ أَنْفُسِكُمْ
عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ
مَا عَنِتُّمْ
حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُمْ
بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ
رَءُوفٌ رَحِيمٌ
Verily,
there has come unto you a Messenger (Muhammad صلى
الله عليه وسلم) from amongst yourselves (i.e. whom you know
well). It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty. He
(Muhammad صلى الله
عليه وسلم) is anxious over you (to be rightly guided, to repent to Allâh,
and beg Him to pardon and forgive your sins in order that you may enter
Paradise and be saved from the punishment of the Hell-fire) for the believers
(he صلى الله
عليه وسلم is) full of pity, kind, and merciful.
(Glorious Qur’aan 9:128)
“All
thy garments smell of myrrh” is referring
to the fact that a certain woman among his followers collected his sweat to
anoint the dress of her son’s bride.
Many
daughters of the kings (Princess) in the early history of Islaam became the
servitors and many became honorable among Muslims. For example “Sher Bano” daughter of Yazd Jard,
the king of Persia married to the grand son of Muhammad (SAW).
Negus,
the king of Nubia; Manazar bin Sava, king of Bahrin; the king of Oman and other
rulers believed in Muhammad (SAW). Many others presented princess as gifts, as
mentioned earlier about the Muqawqis, the king of Egypt who also sent three
slave girls with a Nubian slave and a white mule, a white ass, and a horse with
many other precious gifts of garments.
After
the death of Muhammad (SAW) there arose many mighty kings and rulers among
Muslims making Islaamic civilization impossible to match by any other race and
religion individually and collectively.
The
praise has continued and will continue in every prayer call five times a day
and through the Kalimah that is recited day and night saying “ I testify
that there is NO God but God, and I testify that Muhammad is the Servant and
Messenger of God.”
Christians
claim that this prophecy is about Jesus, always hopelessly fails to present the
evidence using reason and logic. I have proved it through facts using Qur’aan
and Bible both. The further evidence that impeach Christians claim comes from
their own Bible that can be used to refute Christians, where we read in Isaiah
53:1-3 & 5!
“053:001 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the
LORD revealed? 053:002 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and
as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we
shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 053:003 He is despised
and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as
it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.”
The verse five in the same chapter says:
“053:005 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our
iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we
are healed.”
So, if Jesus (PBUH) was really what these verses describe (that is not what Muslims believe) how could Jesus be qualified for all the attributes mentioned in the prophecy of Psalms under discussion. As a matter of truth Isaiah 53 is an obvious interpolation and redaction in the original text. Jesus (PBUH) is one of the great prophet of Islaam but he is not the one who is the object of this prophecy because Jesus (PBUH) never girded a sword, nor was an archer, he never went on war according to Christians nor Jesus’ law was for eternity. NO princess entered his home as wife, maid, or servant. Jesus didn’t marry. Beside that he had no paternal grandfather; Jesus (PBUH) was born without father. This can also be reconciled by using the very words from the gospels which further proves the following:
1
John 2:1 (KJV):
002:001
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man
sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
(Note: Greek word “Parakletos” [English {Paraclete} has also translated as “Advocate”, “Mediator” and “Comforter” in different versions of Bible):
016:012 I have yet many things
to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 016:013 Howbeit when he, the
Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not
speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he
will shew you things to come. 016:014 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive
of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 016:015 All things that the Father hath
are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto
you.
Points to be noted:
1. John
16:12-15 tells us that Jesus’ mission was incomplete, which needed the “Spirit
of Truth” to finish the job, Jesus is leaving behind unfinished.
2. Jesus’
preaching was insufficient and Jesus’ teachings need complement.
3. Followers of Jesus still need the “Spirit of Truth” (how funny Christians claims that they have the infallible truth? And Jesus says they don’t and they can’t bear the truth).
4. Jesus
said that another “Paraclete/Comforter/Spirit of Truth” will come and will
complete the unfinished mission of Jesus.
This
also need to be understood with Matthew 3:11:
003:011 I indeed baptize you
with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I,
whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost,
and with fire:
The mighty ONE
is no other than MUHAMMAD:
NOTE: In Bible (Old Testament and New Testament (both) the word
“Spirit” does also apply to righteous and wicked (humans) as well, as we read in the following verse:
1 John 4:5! 004:001 Beloved,
believes not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because
many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Muslims’ believes that the “Spirit
of Truth/Comforter/Paraclete” is no other than Prophet Muhammad, who came after
Jesus. Muslims also have the Quran to prove it. Matthew 3:11 can be reconciled
with Quran 61:6-
And (remember) when 'Iesa (Jesus),
son of Maryam (Mary), said: "O Children of Israel! I am the Messenger of
Allâh unto you confirming the Taurât [(Torah) which came] before me, and giving
glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmed. But
when he (Ahmed i.e. Muhammad) came to them with clear proofs, they said:
"This is plain magic."
