Bible Prophecy: Isaiah 60:1-22

All the praises and thanks be to Allaah, Sustainer of the Universe, and blessing and salutation to be the most distinguish of the Messengers and foremost among the Prophets, our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allaah be on him and on his wives, children and Companions.

060:001 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. 060:002 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 060:003 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. 060:004 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. 060:005 Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee. 060:006 The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD. 060:007 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory. 060:008 Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows? 060:009 Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee. 060:010 And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee. 060:011 Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought. 060:012 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted. 060:013 The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious. 060:014 The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee; The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel. 060:015 Whereas thou has been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations. 060:016 Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob. 060:017 For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness. 060:018 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise. 060:019 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. 060:020 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended. 060:021 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land forever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. 060:022 A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.

The entire chapter is self-evident that it is about the advent of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and his message to mankind. In order to simplify this entire chapter of Isaiah, following points are worth noticing:

• The very first verse is referring to Glorious Qur’aan and Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم as both have repeatedly been called the “Light” is Qur’aan. For example Qur’aan 4:174 reads “O mankind! Verily there hath come to you a convincing proof from your Lord: for We have sent unto you a light (that is) manifest.” We then read again in Qur’aan 5:15 “O People of the Book! there hath come to you Our Messenger, revealing to you much that ye used to hide in the Book, and passing over much (that is now unnecessary): There hath come to you from Allah a (new) light and a perspicuous Book.”
• The kings, the rich and the poor who accepted Islaam began to tread in the radiance of this light.
• Within the thirty years the light of Islaam reached the East and West, Byzantine, Persia, Kashgar, Khuttan, India to name few.
• Millions of Muslims rich, nobles, and kings’ poor visit the House of the Lord (Ka’bah in Makkah) all year around, for Hajj in particular from all corners of this world no other place on earth has this honor.
• Countless people circumambulate around Ka’bah to glorify the God, this does not takes place anywhere else in the world.
• Midian is the name of Abraham’s son by his third wife (Keturah) and Kedar is the name of second son of Ishmael (see Genesis chapter 25).
• The Madinites and those around Sheba, all of them are descendants of Ishmael, who after becoming Muslims visits Ka’bah and sing praises.
• Verse 10 is the reference to wealth, pride and honor that would be transferred to Makkah (that Syria enjoys as the birthplace of the Israelites prophets) which would be the birthplace of the last of the Prophets Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم.
• Whoever will not serve Makkah, will be destroyed (reference to story of Abraha as well).
• The holy sanctuary of the God would be decorated and golden mantle will be put on it every year. This has been done since the birth of Islaam, each year Ka’bah in Makkah get new veil or cover made of pure gold and pure silver by hand.
• The city of Makkah is also called Zion like the name of mountain near Jerusalem. Makkah is also called by the name Zion (see Madarij-an-Nabuvaat” by Sheikh Abdul Haq Delhive Ch. 4, also see Izalat-ul-Auham page 504.
• He [Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم] left behind a law for his people that would guide them until eternity. His followers (Companions) will be the doctors of Law.
• From a very few they grow many thousands, and from a humble to one nation (Ummah) glorifying the God.
• The Companions of that prophet would be righteous.

The readers are advised to read Chapters 54 & 65 of Isaiah wherein Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and his Companions have also been mentioned. As we see that Isaiah 60:1-22 undeniably is about Islaam as a total package i.e. mentioning the Qur’aan, Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and his Companions etc. But Jews and Christians always deny the truth due to their bigotry and arrogance.
