All the praises and thanks be to Allaah, Sustainer of the Universe, and blessing and salutation to be the most distinguish of the Messengers and foremost among the Prophets, our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allaah be on him and on his wives, children and Companions.
The
prophecy in the following verses from Isaiah
chapter 42 is obviously about the promised one
with certain characteristics, such as, he would be the elect and the favorite
of the God. He would be bestowed with
the universal leadership and Divine guidance to govern the affairs of the
world. The reference of “Gentiles”
means that the promised one would be from the seed of Kedar, a son of Ishmael.
This reference clearly rules out that the promised one is not a Jew and
neither, it is Jesus, who was a Jew according to Bible and Christian belief
with their claim i.e. Jesus is/was “son of David.” Jesus is reported to have said in the gospels
that he came to the lost sheep of
Isaiah 42:1-4, 6, 8, & 11!
042:001 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine
elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring
forth judgment to the Gentiles 042:002 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause
his voice to be heard in the street. 042:003 A bruised reed shall he not break,
and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto
truth. 042:004 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment
in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
042:006 I the LORD have called thee in
righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for
a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
042:008 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my
glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
042:011 Let the wilderness and the cities
thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the
inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
According to Old Testament
(Genesis) Kedar is the undisputed son of Ishmael, who lived in
Paran (Makkah) in
Surah Al-Israa 1

Glorified (and Exalted) be He (Allâh) (above all that (evil) they associate with Him) {1} Who took His slave (Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) for a journey by night from Al-Masjid-al-Harâm (at Makkah) to Al-Masjid-al-Aqsâ (in Jerusalem), the neighborhood whereof We have blessed, in order that We might show him (Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) of Our Ayât (proofs, evidence, lessons, signs, etc.). Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer {2} .
{1} (V.17: 1) وقد روى طلحة بن عبيد الله أنه قال للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ما معنى سبحان الله؟ قال تنزيه الله من كل سوء؛
{2} (V.17:
1) Narrated Jâbir bin ‘Abdullâh رضي
الله عنهما that he heard Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله
عليه وسلم saying, "When the people of Quraish did not believe me
(i.e. in the story of my Isrâ’
- (Night Journey)), I stood up in Al-Hijr
and Allâh displayed Jerusalem in front of me, and I began describing it to them
while I was looking at it. (Sahih Al-Bukhari,
Vol.5, Hadith No.226).
Surah Al-Jinn 19
وَأَنَّهُ
لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ
اللَّهِ يَدْعُوهُ
كَادُوا
يَكُونُونَ
عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا
And when the slave of Allâh (Muhammad صلى الله
عليه وسلم) stood up invoking Him (his Lord - Allâh) in prayer they (the
jinn) just made round him a dense crowd as if sticking one over the other (in
order to listen to the Prophet’s recitation).
It
must be remembered that Prophet Muhammad صلی
الله عليه
وسلم
has been called servant, slave, or bondsman of Allaah in many places in
Glorious Qur’aan. Christians cannot claim
this prophecy for Jesus (JESUS) since according to their belief and gospels:
Again,
Jesus is not the object of this prophecy. Beside that the word “Elect” is a translation of Arabic word “Mustafa”, that is
one of the popular names of Prophet Muhammad صلی
الله عليه
وسلم.
The phrase “in whom my soul delighteth” in the prophecy is
also the mirror image of Arabic word “Murtaza” that is yet another
name of Prophet Muhammad صلی
الله عليه
وسلم.
Christians
cannot claim this prophecy for Jesus for many reasons including the reason that
Jesus cried on the cross for being forsaken by God when he was crucified, this certainly is contrary to (“in whom my soul delighteth.”) the
part of the alleged god who is hanged. Christians do face another major
dilemma as according to:
003:013 Christ hath
redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is
written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
This proves that God was not
delighted in him; otherwise there should not have been any suffering by
hanging.
The word “spirit” is also used in the sense of
revelation from God as we read in Glorious Qur’aan:
Surah Ash-Shura 52
وَكَذَلِكَ
أَوْحَيْنَا
إِلَيْكَ رُوحًا
مِنْ أَمْرِنَا
مَا كُنْتَ
تَدْرِي مَا
الْكِتَابُ
وَلَا
الْإِيمَانُ
وَلَكِنْ
جَعَلْنَاهُ
نُورًا
نَهْدِي بِهِ
مَنْ نَشَاءُ
مِنْ عِبَادِنَا
وَإِنَّكَ
لَتَهْدِي
إِلَى صِرَاطٍ
مُسْتَقِيمٍ
And thus We have sent to you (O
Muhammad صلى
الله عليه و
سلم) Ruh (a Revelation, and a Mercy) of Our Command.
You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith? But We have made it (this
Qur’ân) a light wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will. And verily,
you (O Muhammad صلى
الله عليه و
سلم) are
indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight Path (i.e. Allâh’s Religion of Islâmic
Monotheism).
Surah Al-Israa 85
وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ
عَنِ الرُّوحِ
قُلِ الرُّوحُ
مِنْ أَمْرِ
رَبِّي وَمَا
أُوتِيتُمْ
مِنَ
الْعِلْمِ
إِلَّا
قَلِيلًا
And they ask you (O Muhammad صلى الله
عليه و سلم) concerning the Rűh
(the Spirit); Say: "The Rűh (the
Spirit) is one of the things, the
knowledge of which is only with my Lord. And of knowledge, you
(mankind) have been given only a little."
Isaiah 42:2 says (“042:002 He shall not cry, nor
lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.”) This verse further
support Muslims claims that the promised one is Muhammad صلی الله
عليه وسلم and not Jesus, because (a) According to
Christians when Jesus was arrested he was humiliated on the streets before his
crucifixion. We further read in the gospels when Jesus attacked the temple (See Mark 11:15-16; Luke 19:27 & 45; Matthew 21:12; John
2:13-15 & 19) he was yelling at the
priests in the Temple, throwing and turning down the tables of money changers
and driving people out of the temple by whipping etc. (about a 1000 people
died in this attack) Jesus called the scribes and Pharisees as “White sepulchers full of dead men’s bones” while threatening them with great damnation. But contrary
to that we read in Sahih Bukhari:
50-CHAPTER: The disapproval of raising voices in the
market!
[2125] 'Ata' Ibn Yasar narrated:
«I met 'Abdullah bin 'Umar bin 'Amr bin Al-'As and asked him: «Tell me about
the described of Allah's Apostle (the blessing and peace of Allah be upon him) which
is mentioned in the Torah (i.e. Old Testament)». He replied: «Yes, By Allah, he
is described in the Torah with some of the qualities attributed to him in the
Qur’ân: «O Prophet! We have sent you as a witness (for Allah's True religion)
And a giver of good tidings (to the faithful believers), And a guardian of the
illiterates. You are My slave and My Messenger (i.e. Apostle). I have named
you the relier because You are neither
discourteous, harsh, not a noise-maker in the markets, and you do not do evil
to those, who do evil to you, but you deal with them with forgiveness and
kindness. Allah will not let him the Prophet
(the blessing and peace of Allah be upon him) die till he makes straight the
crooked people by making them say: There is to god but Allah». With which will
be opened blind eyes, and deaf ears and enveloped hearts».
In the third verse of this prophecy “he
shall bring forth judgment unto truth” is referring to the fact that the prophet would be a King and a Judge, we know that Jesus has no such qualities beside the
Christians “hollow” claims (without proof) that Jesus was the alleged king.
Jesus didn’t judge anyone nor sat in the judgment of the guilty. The truth is
other way around since Jesus was judged for attack on temple and was convicted
with death sentence for this felonious act as the gospels tell us, therefore,
one may argue that Christian sham god was a convicted felon. Also Jesus didn’t
wage any war against infidels, which was a part of Jesus’ faith as a Jew. This
verse again, like others quoted refers to Prophet Muhammad صلی الله
عليه وسلم, whose law will endure till eternity. Jews, Christians or any
other nation cannot claim equality with Muslim Ummah. There is no nation on the
face of earth who has preserved the deeds and words of its prophet as Muslims
did. The eternity of Divine Law that Muhammad صلی
الله عليه
وسلم brought put a seal on the finality of the Prophethood as
we read in Glorious Qur’aan:
Surah An-Nisaa 65
But no,
by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad صلی الله
عليه وسلم) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no
resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.
Surah Al-Ahzab 40

Muhammad
(صلى الله
عليه وسلم) is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger
of Allâh and the last (end) of the Prophets. And Allâh is Ever All-Aware of
everything.
When a new prophet appears, the previous law automatically
become annulled by the succeeding law and does not remain in perpetuity. The
perpetuity in the enforcement of law can only be feasible when no more prophets
are to follow the former.
We read further in the prophecy (“042:004
He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth:
and the isles shall wait for his law.”) Prophet Muhammad صلی
الله عليه
وسلم
established judgment on the earth in his lifetime and gave the glad tiding of
the perfection of faith of Islaam, which came from God, as we read in Glorious
Qur’aan (5:3):
Surah Al-Maidah 3
الْيَوْمَ
أَكْمَلْتُ
لَكُمْ
دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ

have chosen for you Islâm as your religion.
Surah Al-fat-h 1

Verily, We have given you (O Muhammad وسلم صلى
الله عليه) a manifest victory.
The Prophecies of Qur’aan
& Isaiah 42 (both)!
Despite of chronic and acute hatred on part of disbelievers and enemies of Islaam, this true religion (Islaam) of Allaah would outdo in respect of Guidance and Truthfulness.

This
had happened during the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad صلی الله
عليه وسلم and the Prophecy of Glorious Qur’aan and also of Isaiah 42 had
been fulfilled.
The above Ayaat آيات and Islaamic history are the evidence that
promised was fulfilled. Isaiah 42:04
also apply to the rightly guided Caliphs and those who came after them,
stretched the Islaamic Empire filling the world with justice and equity.
In verse six (6) “I the
LORD have called thee in righteousness” of
this prophecy is referring to the noble character of eloquent of Prophet
Muhammad صلی

as Qur’aan testify:
Surah Al-A'raf 157

Those
who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write (i.e.
Muhammad صلى
الله عليه
وسلم)
whom they find written with them in the Taurât (Torah) (Deut, xviii 15) and the
Injeel (Gospel) (John xiv, 16) {1} , - he commands them for
Al-Ma‘rűf (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and all that Islâm
has ordained); and forbids them from Al-Munkar (i.e.
disbelief, polytheism of all kinds, and all that Islâm has forbidden); he
allows them as lawful At-Tayyibât (i.e. all good and
lawful as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods), and prohibits them
as unlawful Al-Khabâ’ith (i.e. all evil and unlawful as
regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons and foods), he releases them from their
heavy burdens (of Allâh’s Covenant with the children
of Israel), and from the fetters (bindings) that were upon them. So those who
believe in him (Muhammad صلى
الله عليه
وسلم),
honor him, help him, and follow the light (the Qur’ân), which has been sent
down with him, it is they who will be successful {2} .
{1} (V.7: 157) There exists in the
Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), even after the original text has been
distorted, clear prophecies indicating the coming of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه
وسلم,
e.g. Deut. 18: 18,21:21; Ps. 118:22-23; Isa. 42: 1-13; Hab.3: 3-4; Matt.
21:42-43; Jn.14: 12-17, 26-28, 16: 7-14.
{2} (V.7: 157): A) "O you who have been given the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Believe in what We have revealed (to Muhammadصلى الله عليه وسلم) confirming what is (already) with you, before We efface faces (by making them (faces) like the backs of the necks; without nose, mouth and eyes), and turn them hind wards, or curse them as We cursed the Sabbath -breakers. And the Commandment of Allâh is always executed." (V.4: 47). B) See (V.57: 28), and its footnote.
In the same verse of Isaiah (42:6) we
further read, “will hold
thine hand, and will keep thee” was
fulfilled as we read in Glorious Qur’aan (5:67):
Surah Al-Maidah 67

O
Messenger (Muhammad صلى
الله عليه وسلم)! Proclaim (the Message) which has been
sent down to you from your Lord. And if you do not, then you have not conveyed
His Message. Allâh will protect you from mankind. Verily, Allâh guides
not the people who disbelieve.
It must be remembered that all attempts of disbelievers
failed to kill Prophet Muhammad صلی
الله عليه
وسلم.
Contrary to this Jesus was not saved, as Christians believe, he was killed on
the cross. The verse 6 continues saying “and give thee for a covenant of the
people, for a light of the Gentiles;”
this can be reconciled with Glorious
Qur’aan (4:170), which reads:
Surah An-Nisaa 170

Surah An-Nisaa 174

Surah Al-Jumu’ah 4

Owner of Mighty Grace.
Verses 11 of the
same chapter says: “Let the wilderness
and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar inhabit:
let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of mountains.
Let them give glory of the Lord, and declare his praise in the islands.” Again, Kedar is the
son of Ishmael and among the ancestors of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The
“wilderness” is the reference to “Paran” where Abraham left Hagar and Ishmael (see
Genesis 21:21), it is the same place that is called Makkah today, “and the
villages of Kedar” is a clear reference to Makkah where children of Ishmael
settled. Makkah is also the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad صلی الله
عليه وسلم, and Muslims holiest site Kaa’bah is in Makkah as well where
the hymns of the Lord are sung day and night (24/7/365), especially at the time
of Hajj. Also referring to the welcome accorded to the Prophet Muhammad صلی الله
عليه وسلم when he first migrated to Madinah
(Hijrah) from Makkah. The Muslims were
overjoyed at the arrival of the Messenger of Allaah صلی
الله عليه
وسلم.
It was the best thing that had ever happened to them. The women and children
chanted, ‘This is the Messenger of Allaah
who has come! This is the Messenger of Allaah who has come!' In their delight, the girls of the Ansar recited:
The full moon shines down
upon us from Thaniyat al-Wada'.
We must all give our thanksgiving
all the while praising Allaah
You whom Allaah sends among
us,
What you bring, we will obey
You've ennobled Madinah.
Welcome now! Guide us to His
way!
Anas ibn Malik al-Ans a boy
at that time, said, 'I saw the Messenger of Allaah صلی
الله عليه
وسلم the day he entered Madinah. I have not
seen a better or more radiant day than when he came to us in Madinah.'
Readers can see that facts presented above clearly prove without a
shadow of a doubt that Isaiah 42 is not about Jesus (Period). Isaiah 42 is
obviously about Prophet Muhammad صلى
الله عليه
وسلم.
