All the praises and thanks be to Allaah, Sustainer of the Universe, and blessing and salutation to be the most distinguish of the Messengers and foremost among the Prophets, our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allaah be on him and on his wives, children and Companions.

In this treatise we will inSha Allaah discuss some of the prophecies of Glorious Qur’aan that came to pass, changing the history forever.

First Prophecy!

Despite of chronic and acute hatred on part of disbelievers and enemies of Islaam, this true religion (Islaam) of Allaah would outdo in respect of Guidance and Truthfulness.

Surah As-Saff 9

He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islâmic Monotheism) to make it victorious over all (other) religions even though the Mushrikûn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh and in His Messenger Muhammad وسلم صلى الله عليه) hate (it).

Southern Arabia and Christianity

At the time of attaining the Prophethood by the Prophet Muhammad وسلم صلى الله عليه the political situation of Arabia was precarious. In the South was the State of Habsha (Ethiopia) and the Northern parts of it were under the Roman Empire. Both of these were Christian states. Christianity had entered Arabia in 330 A.D. and Banu Ghassan (Ghassan tribe) had converted to Christianity. Gradually Christianity expanded its hold politically on Iraq, Bahrain, Faraan Desert and Doomat-ul-Jandal. Prof. Sedev writes: “From 395 A.D. all vehemence was put to propagation of Christianity in Arabia. But, Islaam within a very short span of time spread through the entity- and all these states adopted Islaam. They also got stability by it.”

Eastern Arabia and Majusianism

On the Eastern parts of Arabia there was Persian Empire and a Governor appointed by the king of Persia ruled as his representative or agent. Therefore, in the eastern pats of Arabia worship of fire was in vogue. There are such Arabs on record in the annals of history of that era that had kept daughters and sisters as their “mistresses” under the influence of Majusianism and their practices. Islaam however, uprooted this religion and perished it within no time after its emergence.

Central Arabia and Idol Worship

In Hijaz (the central Arabia) Ibnul Lahee had brought an idol for the first time. Three centuries before Islaam all the important tribes had become idol-worshippers.

Islaam as its sign of truthfulness rid all such communities of idol-worshippers of these superstitions. And it fact these are the meanings of the words:

لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ

to make it victorious over all (other) religions

This had happened during the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad وسلم صلى الله عليه and the Prophecy had been fulfilled.

Second Prophecy!

Surah As-Saff 8

They intend to put out the Light of Allâh (i.e. the Religion of Islâm, this Qur’ân, and the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) with their mouths. But Allâh will bring His Light to perfection even though the disbelievers hate (it).

This fact can be viewed in comparison to the state of other religions and the fate of their respective leaders.

Musa عليه السلام Did Not Enter The Promised Land

Prophet Musa عليه السلام was obliged by Allaah for such things as ruin of Fir’awn (Pharaoh) and Nile. Allaah gave Moses and Israelites dry passage to go across the sea. Manadew was descended upon Israelites- they were guided by the whirlwinds in the morning and the same was transformed into minaret of light during night. But Israelites could not be led into the Promised Land during Moses’ lifetime.

Daud عليه السلام Could Not Build The House of Allaah (2nd Temple)

Prophet Daud عليه السلام was granted the rule over Israelites and he defeated to naught Jalut and Samuel. He built “Sher-Yar” and fortresses, but he was not granted the privilege of building Allaah’s house there (2nd Temple).

Isâ’s عليه السلام Mission Remains Incomplete During His Lifetime

A study of the biography of Isa عليه السلام would tell that in connection with preaching and propagation of his mission he remained busy for three years. Jesus did not pass two nights in the same place-Still he failed in his objectives, and as it is mentioned in John Chapter 16:7-14, he declared to the effect that he could not propagate fully and could not teach in full.

But vis-à-vis all this, it is the decree of the Glorious Qur’aan that Islaam would reach to its height of success. And this Ayah was revealed at a time when Muhajireen مهاجرين (immigrants) and Ansars انصار had never had their meals to their respective fills and even Salah was performed at the risk of enemy’s onslaught. But very firmly and steadfastly the prophecy was fulfilled bringing the day when Prophet Muhammad وسلم صلى الله عليه in the field of Arafaat عرفات pronounced in the name of Allaah at the top of Mt. Rahmat رحمت giving the glad tiding:

Surah Al-Maidah 3

AL- YAWM AKMALTU LA- -KUM DEN -KUM WA- ATMAMTU cALAY -KUM NIcMAH -E WA- RAD.ETU LA- -KUM AL- ISLAAM DEN(AN)

This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.

The world has seen this prophecy and its fulfillment over fourteen centuries ago!

Third Prophecy!

Surah Ibrahim 24-25

See you not how Allâh sets forth a parable? A goodly word as a goodly tree, whose root is firmly fixed, and its branches (reach) to the sky (i.e. very high). Giving its fruit at all times, by the Leave of its Lord, and Allâh sets forth parables for mankind in order that they may remember.

It is well evident by the above Ayaat that Islaam is told of a very healthy and prosperous tree, which is strongly deep-rooted growing higher and giving fruit all year around, making other religions quite opposite to Islaam.  According to Guinness World Records 2003, over 12.5 million people alone converted to Islaam during last decade (1990-2000). While according Guinness World Records 2005 (50th anniversary edition), Muslim population grew from 935 millions in 1990 to 1.4 billion in 2004. A record growth of 465 millions (a growth of 33.21 millions per year). Islaam is world’s # 1 religion followed by the Christianity # 2.

Fourth Prophecy!

Surah Fussilat 53

We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their own selves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Qur’ân) is the truth. Is it not sufficient in regard to your Lord that He is a Witness over all things?

As a matter of fact, it is Glorious Qur’aan that attracted Arabs to Islaam. When internally and outwardly there is evidence of the truthfulness of Islaam, can any thinking mind dispel it? Certainly not! Contemporaries of the Prophet Muhammad وسلم صلى الله عليه were shown the signs, which were recognized by their inner self, that were supported by the evidences, resulting in their acceptance of Islaam.
