Fishing for converts!

All the praises and thanks be to Allaah, Sustainer of the Universe, and blessing and salutation to be the most distinguish of the Messengers and foremost among the Prophets, our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allaah be on him and on his wives, children and Companions.

Muslims rightfully accuse Christians for using the dirty tactics to convert people to Christianity. Christian missionaries would do anything by hook, by nook and by crook to dupe people to Christianity. However, Christians’ dirty tactics are not the scope of this treatise; we will rather examine Muslims’ methodology and/or tactics of inviting people to Islaam.

In the Glorious Qur’aan Allaah (SWT) says to Muslims:

Qur’aan 16:125

Qur’aan 29:46

Surah An-Nahl 125

Invite [mankind, O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم] to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islām) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Revelation and the Qur’ān) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided.

Surah Al-'Ankabut 46

And argue not with the people of the Scripture, unless it be in (a way) that is better (with good words and in good manner, inviting them to Islāmic Monotheism with His Verses), except with such of them as do wrong; and say (to them): "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you; our Ilāh (God) and your Ilāh (God) is One (i.e. Allāh), and to Him we have submitted (as Muslims)."

Phrase blindly used by Muslims is: ادْعُ إِلَى سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَِ

Invite [mankind, O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم], while the rest of the Ayaah is always ignored.

Ignorant Muslims’ disregard this Ayaah.

Muslims (mainly absolutely ignorant Muslims) use and abuse the above two Ayaat (Qur’aan 16:125 & Qur’aan 29:46). In fact, Muslims very conveniently use first part of Qur’aan 16:125, while recklessly ignoring the rest of the Ayaah and the injunctions therein. Before we proceed let us look at another crucial Qur’aanic Ayah 12:108,

Surah Yusuf 108

Say [O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم]: "This is my way; I invite unto Allāh (i.e. to the Oneness of Allāh - Islāmic Monotheism) with sure knowledge, I and whosoever follows me (also must invite others to Allāh i.e. to the Oneness of Allāh - Islāmic Monotheism with sure knowledge). And Glorified and Exalted be Allāh (above all that they associate as partners with Him). And I am not of the Mushrikūn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allāh; those who worship others along with Allāh or set up rivals or partners to Allāh)."

In the Ayaah 16:125 we found absolute principles and curriculum of Tabligh and Da’wah, with its principles and rules of etiquette, which some how zealot but ignorant Muslims thinks does not apply on them or they are exempt from complying these rules and etiquettes.

The word Da’wah دَعُوَة literally means ‘to call.’ Thus, this was the first duty of the Prophets to call people toward Allaah; these Prophets were blessed with Divine Knowledge and Divine Wisdom that enabled them to explain their teachings. Calling people towards Allaah (دَعُوَة اِلَی اللهِ : Da’wah illa-lah) has been made obligatory on the Muslim Ummah following the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم as we read in Ayaah 3:104,

Surah Al-i-'Imran 104

Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good (Islām), enjoining Al-Ma‘rūf (i.e. Islāmic Monotheism and all that Islām orders one to do) and forbidding Al-Munkar (polytheism and disbelief and all that Islām has forbidden).

However, before a Muslim begin his or her call to invite people to Allaah, there is yet another Qur’aanic injunction that must be taken into account, which is found in the Qur’aanic Ayaah 9:122,

Surah At-Tauba 122

And it is not (proper) for the believers to go out to fight (Jihād) all together. Of every troop of them, a party only should go forth, that they (who are left behind) may get instructions in (Islāmic) religion, and that they may warn their people when they return to them, so that they may beware (of evil).

These Ayaat cited above conclusively proves that Da’wah work requires, advance to expert level of Islaamic/Qur’aanic knowledge. These Ayaat also disqualify all those wanna be imbeciles who owns a Desktop with Internet connection and ability to copy and paste “gobbledygook” that almost all Muslims are doing all over Internet, especially at so-called Muslim discussion forums. These discussion forums are the colonies of ignorant and imbecile Muslims, desperate of attention with zeal to pimp their ignorance under the pretext of Da’wah. Nevertheless, before we proceed any further, let me first paraphrase one renowned and great Islaamic scholar Dr. Taha Jabir al Alwani:

‘The contemporary Muslim world is afflicted by numerous diseases which here spread to almost every aspect of its being. Moral torpor and intellectual paralysis, subversion from within, subjugation from without, the absence of justice and fair dealing, exploitation and corruption, extremes of ignorance and disease, poverty and waste, dependence and insecurity, discord ad internecine strife_ the list is long and painful. The number of gravity of these afflictions are capable of wiping whole nations and peoples off the face of the earth, even though some may be well-endowed with wealth and resources.

Beset by such catastrophic afflictions, one wonders in fact how the universal community of believers_ the Muslim Ummah_ has survived. That this Ummah has been spared and continues to exist to this day must be due to the fact that it still holds the legacy of the Qur’aan intact as well as the example of God’s final messenger to mankind, may the peace and blessing of God be upon him…’

A Da’wah worker or Da’ia required extensive knowledge of Islaamic and Qur’aanic sciences and certain other qualifications beside that, which are as follows:

  1. SPIRITUAL TRAINING OF THE ISLAMIC WORKER
  2. THE ACADEMIC TRAINING OF THE ISLAMIC WORKER
  3. DEVELOPMENT OF CONSCIENTIOUS-AND SENSITIVITY
  4. CORRECT MOTIVATION
  5. ACQUISITION OF THE KNOWLEDGE AND RIGHTEOUSNESS
  6. STUDY OF THE LIVES OF THE SAHABA AND THE SALIHEEN
  7. ACTIVE RELATIONSHIP WITH ALLAH
  8. THE LOVE FOR THE PROPHET
  9. THOUGHT FOR THE HEREAFTER

When a person comes forth with a message of truth it is not he alone who impinges on society; society itself notices his smallest mistake and forces him to keep certain levels of moral quality. The Da’ia cannot call society towards something, which he himself does not fulfill, and it cannot remove a fault from the society that is to be found within himself. Thus as soon as he comes forth with his Da’wah, from all sides he is viewed, as it were, with microscopes. His smallest weaknesses and faults are found out and placed squarely before him. He cannot just go forth and try to reform society. Society itself sees to it that there is no contradiction between what he says and what he does. Either he has to mold himself according to his words or he has to simply give up what he says. Sometimes through the society's criticism and sometimes through the obstacles and tests that he faces the worker for the truth corrects, improves and develops his character and finally makes himself pure and fully sincere towards his task. Thus society itself provides the training ground for the Da’ia.

Let us now compare this knowledge and Islaamic prerequisites for Da’wah briefly cited above (despite of an extensive topic), with all so-called Muslim forums that are owned, moderated and infested by ignorant Muslims, Pseudo-Muslims and Christian missionaries impersonating as Muslim trying to dupe non-Muslims to Islaam and/or chasing them off with disgust. The irony of these so-called Da’wah workers and supposed Muslims is that, they accuse others for being ignorant of their belief and their scripture et cetera, while they are no different than those they are accusing. My personal research and investigation has led me to conclude that hardly one out of every ten thousand Muslims may be considered learned of Deen-ul-Islaam. It is amazing to see that all these self-appointed so-called Muslim scholars who can’t even recite Qur’aan in most cases accuse Christians’ for ignoring the Old Testament, while doing the same with the Qur’aan. One wonder than how come it is fair for these cretins' (calling themselvesMuslims”) and foul for others, when both sides are doing the same. I believe it is a greater impropriety committed by these ignorant Muslims than Christians’ since they don’t have the truth, while Muslims do.

If you are a non-Muslim and interested in Islaam, I suggest that you use the authentic sources of Islaam to learn i.e. reading the Qur’aan with commentary, since translation has its limitations. How one can teach other/s something that s/he is ignorant of? These ignorant zealots don’t even know that Glorious Qur’aan increases the disbelievers in their disbelief, insolence and aversion (See Qur’aan 5:64; 5:68; 17:41; 17:82 & 17:89) and most importantly,

Surah Al-An'am 125

And whomsoever Allāh wills to guide, He opens his breast to Islām; and whomsoever He wills to send astray, He makes his breast closed and constricted, as if he is climbing up to the sky. Thus Allāh puts the wrath on those who believe not. {1}

{1} (V.6: 125) If Allāh تعالى wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion (the understanding of the Qur’ān and the Sunnah [legal ways) of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم]. Narrated Mu‘āwiya رضي الله عنه in a Khuthah (religious talk): I heard Allāh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم saying, "If Allāh wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion (the understanding of the Qur’ān and the Sunnah [legal ways) of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم]. I am just a distributor, but the grant is from Allāh. (And remember) that this nation (true Muslims, real followers of Islāmic Monotheism) will remain obedient to Allāh’s Orders (i.e., following strictly Allāh’s Book (the Qur’ān) and the Prophet’s Sunnah (legal ways)) and they will not be harmed by anyone who will oppose them (going on a different path) till Allāh’s Order (Day of Judgment) is established." (Sahih Al-Bukhāri , Vol.1, Hadīth No.71).
